Edvard Grieg and the Schumanns: Intersecting in Leipzig -- Exploring the Influence of Robert & Clara Schumann on Edvard Grieg

The third conference and competition of the Edvard Grieg Society of the Great Lakes, held in Goshen (Indiana), is dedicated to the influence of Robert and Clara Schumann on Edvard Grieg, particularly as he studied in Leipzig, and includes recitals, lectures, and piano and vocal competitions.

Concerts:
  • Friday May 8, 7:30 p.m.
    • Guest Artists Jeni Houser, soprano and Austin Huntington, cello
    • EGSOGL Board pianists Gregory Martin and Luke Norell
  • Saturday May 9, 5:00 p.m.
    • Performance award winners from Piano and Vocal Competitions

Competitions:
  • Pre-College Piano Competition:
    • $1600+ in prizes
    • 3 Divisions for ages 18 and under
  • Vocal Competition:
    • $2200 in prizes and $150 in stipends for finalists
    • 2 Divisions for emerging artists
