The inaugural conference of the Edvard Grieg Society of the Great Lakes in Goshen (Indiana) is dedicated to Edvard Grieg and his admiration for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, including recitals, lectures, and a pre-college piano competition. - William Halverson, scholar: eminent English translator of Grieg’s writings and song texts and Vice-President of the Edvard Grieg Society of America
- Amy Kauffman, violinist: Metropolitan Opera Orchestra
- Mimmi Fulmer, soprano: Scandinavian scholar and decorated American soprano
